His teacher Iyadurai Soloman told him that one can achieve anything through the power of the education. Young Kalam was very bright and had high hopes for the future. Dr.Kalam was disappointed many times but he never lost hope. He was hardworking and sincere in his job as a senior scientific assistant and he maintains his nature throughout his glorious career. Later in his life, he resigned the post of Scientific and technology Advisor to take up the job of a teacher and create temper in the minds of young Indians. There is a general theory that the scientists are usually concerned with science and do not care about the hu man feelings and sentiments, but Dr.Kalam is a very humble and kind man and cares a lot about the sufferings of the human beings.
Dr. Kalam is very patriotic. He thinks that the priority of the time is to develop the nation in all spheres. A great team man, Dr.Kalam’s belief in India and its potential found expression in his book, “India 2020: A vision for the new Millennium”. The book, outline his perceptions of India’s strengths and weaknesses and outlines his prescription for a powerful India. He believes that national security and economic strength are the two pillars of a resurgent India. He has helped the country as far as security goes and never loses an opportunity to exhaust others to think big and realize the second.
Dr.Kalam wants the people of our country to respect the freedom that took the lives of many freedom fighters. He wishes to see India as one of the developed countries in the time span of twenty years. And with the completion of the first dream, the planning of the second begins of developing economically and socially. He identified the hurdles that are to be tackled by a developing country as:
1.Agriculture and food processing
2.Reliable quality of electric power available everywhere
3.Education and healthcare
4.Information technology
5.Strategic sectors
Dr.Kalam wishes the people to work for the upliftment of the nation as a whole.

Dr.Kalam has been awarded the ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 1981,’Padma Vibhushan’ in 1990 and India’s highest civilian award ‘The Bharat Ratna’ in 1997. Dr.Kalam, a bachelor is fond of classical carnatic music and plays veena in his leisure time. The book will remain a constant source of encouragement and motivation for me to fly high and explore the world beyond. For nothing is impossible to achieve.
